The way to a man's heart is through his stomach...

....and the way to a woman's heart is through your wallet. Haha - no, just kidding ;o). Well okay, maybe for some women it's true.

Anyway, guys just love it when their wives cook a good meal for them. These days however, women don't spend as much time in the kitchen as their mothers and grandmothers used to do. Not in our society, at least. Working women don't even spend that much time at home, so the kitchen is the last place they want to be in when they get home from work since home = to relax while kitchen = more work.

I'm glad that Martin is not the type of husband who expects dinner to be prepared and ready by 6pm every evening. Can you imagine how stressful that will be? Martin and I can be like the latinos when it comes to dinner time. We eat late! When I say "late", I'm talking about something like between 9pm - 11pm. That's highly abnormal when you're not a latino.

Don't ask me how we got into this latino habit, because I don't quite know how myself. It just kinda became like that over time, I guess. Especially since we both come home late from work during the weekdays, and just want to relax for a couple of hours before "working" again in the kitchen. I'm so glad that we don't have kids right now because when you have kids, then you have no choice but to make sure dinner is ready at an appropriate time - EVERY day. Right now, it's just "free and easy" for us.

This is not to say that we can't eat before 9pm, though. We can if we want to, for example during weekends when we're home, or whenever we go out to eat alone or with friends... . Our bodies can adjust to various dinner times very easily :o).

Anyway, what I had wanted to say originally in this post was that cooking can be such a chore on an every day basis! Some days, my mind just goes completely blank as to what dish to prepare. It is good that Martin can cook too, and that he's not fussy about anything; he makes life SO much easier for his wife :o).

Every woman should have a husband who can cook, and who doesn't have too many dislikes. Highly recommandable. To all you single women out there, make sure to put this on your top 5 things of what to look out for in a potential life partner ;o). However, please do make sure that you can cook too because no matter what, men still do feel very loved when their wives/girlfriends take care of their stomachs... .

Some things in nature will always stay the same - the way to a man's heart has already been paved.
